Default Well, it had to happen sometime.

Yup, bike went down day before last.

How fast was I going? I was inside my house when it happened.

Apparently some kids came into my little condo parking lot and pushed it right over.

Damage:

1 broken footpeg
1 rashed mirror
1 rashed brake handle
1 rashed bar end
1 rashed turn signal
Rashed plastic around the "R6" logo and the lower fairing.
Exhaust can is rashed too.

Words can't describe how pissed I was. At least if I took it down, I could call it a learning experience. Now I just feel like I can't let the damn thing out of my sight.

My car got keyed up a few weeks ago, so this just hasn't been my month. F*ck.

My cam-phone probably wouldn't be able to pick up the scratches.

I dunno whether they were sitting on it, or deliberately pushed it over.

Will insurance rates go up over this, if there is a police report involved? (filed tonight)

That is fucked up. I hope whoever did it gets their comeuppance.

I don't believe your insurance will go up, since it's not your fault.

this is why I would never own a bike unless I had a garage to store it in.

I own an ITR too. I'd love to have a garage.

Insurance will not go up since it was not moving when it was vandalized. if you were riding it and went down then the rates go up

ive had experience in this on my car

No. lol...

Don't get it. Bikes are a dime a dozen, but there aren't any more ITRs and it would be stupid to get one and have it taken from you, if that's a real concern where you live.

it's not a big deal where i live; i hope whoever wanted to steal a car would walk next door and grab one of my neighbors e55's before whatever i have. i'm going to use it for a cross country roadtrip then probably sell it.

This will just make you a lot more easy going about the bike and not so worried all the time. It has its first scars now, take it easy.

ur rear set (foot peg) is kinda pricey my friend bought one for his bike. Was cheaper for him to get some aftermarket ones. cuz OEM was a little more.

Agreed. My friend dropped my bike while it was being shipped from TX to CO. Broke a peg. A new one will cost me 50 bucks, but I can get an aftermarket set that is much more stylish for only 30 bucks. A full set of rear-sets costs like 400 - 500, but I'm sure you dont need that.

but if he does go thru insurance; the cost will probably be close and why not get a set of satos or whatever

Not worth the possible insurance premium increase I would imagine.

That depends on how the insurance views the claim. If they see it as his fault, then it will go up. If it's not his fault, and it should not be in this case, then his premiums will not increase. Again, to emulate a broken record, it depends on his insurance.

If he is honest, they may view it as vandalism. I know a few companies aren't too keen on that.

With Geico, an act of vandalism is similar to an act of nature with regards to at-fault. Another thing is, if his deductible is more than the amount needed to fix the damages. If so, then there's no point in claiming insurance.

Ross - all the parts that are damaged are easily fixed or left alone. There are plenty of damaged black R6s out there, so you should be able to find what you need for cheap.

Deductible is $250, so I doubt the cost of fixing it will be less than that.

I bought this stupid policy and I'm going to get my money's worth. I am so sick of paying out of pocket to keep my insurance rates down, and no way I'm coughing up a few hundred bucks (don't even want to know how much these plastics cost).

You should know that an ITR will get stolen even when it is parked between an unlocked Ferrari and a running sportbike. People will stop at nothing to get one.

Will insurance consider your claim as at-fault or not-your-fault?
