just a reminder for these running one, and that would apply to pretty much all of you. my catch can wasn't collecting anything lately, so turns out my pcv wasn't letting fluids though. i know i could clean it with carb cleaner, but for the piece of mind, i bought another oem piece.

other than adding a catch can between pcv valve and IM, i find stock system to work very efficient. mine is boosted so i can't have constant vaccum by simply connecting to IM, so checkvalve ensures these nothing going back into engine. i run my valve cover vent open because pressure is always going out, from what i hear n/a setup might have vaccum at times? in that case i'd choose another catch can between valve cover and intake before running a filter on valve cover fitting. when it gets clogged up and its more than likely to do so, you'll be in more trouble! its even more trouble if you're burning oil to run valve cover filter, better of just running stock connectoin to intake.

engine needs to breathe, and having problem with vents will have major effect on how long its going to last!

-----------------------------------

another important part is distributor rotor. bad rotor can cause your car to run hot, don't wait until it goes into limp mode and replace often enough. i replace mine every 15k.. but 30k might do it if nearly stock.

-----------------------------------

spark plugs are also important, platinums aren't cheap, however you don't want problems because saving 40-50 on stock set. 15k would be reasonable. i don't run platinum because my ride is boosted, i replace mine every 4-5k.

-----------------------------------

car remote battery - to be safe... at least every 3 years? you don't want to end in the middle of nowhere on sunday and no access to a battery shop

-----------------------------------

transmission fluid - don't forget about that one, i 'd recommend every 15k

-----------------------------------

are you rotating tires often enough? - i'd recommend 3-6k miles depending on how you cut corners when driving. doing so can lead to better thread wear. thats can save some money when running max performance tires

-----------------------------------

all maintanance items are important, but the above can have tricky intervals, so keeping an eye out on these can save some trouble in the future.

Not to be rude, it is a good idea, but the above ideas are common sense to almost all on Honda-Tech, and car enthusiast for that matter.

Not putting you down at all

you may know it doesn't mean everyone else does, not everyone is 100% involved w/ their car so maybe this would be a reminder and helpful and for others, i'm sure many people on here who don't service the car themself. this may point out some preventative maintannce items that dealership may not replace.

this is inteded for someone who doesn't know enough and topics i see almost every other day (xcept the battery)..

i learned lots of things from this site.. i don't mind to summarise what i feel is important and can save someone trouble and $$$$
