Default Performance help

I have a 93 prelude and im getting ready to rebuild the engine. On top of that i am trying to get a little extra hp without spending too much. I have about a thousand dollars to spend on performance. What can i do for that amount of money to get the most horses and a bit more torque? I was thinking one or a few of the following would work: Shave the head, port and polish the head and intake, Cams, a new head, stroker kit. Please im begging anyone with more knowledge than me to write me back thanks!

If you go with head and cams, you've just spent at least half your $1000 depending on where you shop. There's nothing wrong with the H22 head, but it might be better for you if you find a good deal on one and build that up while you can still drive the lude. In my opinion, I would start with:

- cold air (or short ram) intake, if you haven't already
- header and exhaust
- possibly port n polish the intake manifold or go with an aftermarket one
- stiffen up the suspenion - strut bars

I would stay away from taking off the head until you have everything ready for it; it can get real pricey real fast - cams, p&p, valves, gears, etc. etc. (Even at that, it's easier to take the head and intake manifold off together)

If I were starting another on a budget, I'd go for getting the airflow as efficient as possible then saving up $, parts to do the other more involved stuff.

Good luck, hope it helps! Your bound to get 100 different opinions.
