Test Pipes, which one to buy...
i already searched and didnt find much info.
i currently have a JDM DC 4-1 header 2.5 inch, a carsound 2.5 inch cat, and a 2.5 inch T1R catback sports exhaust.
from running so rich with the supercharger, i have clogged up my carsound cat pretty good and i need to replace it with something
i want to go to a test pipe or something to eliminate the cat completely, but i dont want to spend the money on a racing header right now.
so what TEST PIPE would fit perfectly, give the best gains, is readily available and has a spot for the o2 sensor?
hows omnipower?
all comments greatly appreciated
thanks

Dave at SMSP can provide you with a nice one. However...

It sounds as if swapping the cat for a test pipe is just a band-aid solution in this case. If you're running so excessively rich, why not have the setup properly tuned? You'd solve the cat destruction problem and almost certainly achieve significant power gains, improved fuel economy and driveability, a smoother overall power curve, etc.

Yup. By keeping the cat, you will also create less air pollution. When you take the cats off, you will easily be able to smell the difference; your car will stink.

well, i dont care about the polution or stink of the test pipes
i want to increase the air flow more, the cat is too restrictive
and my car is tuned now, but i was running rich for so long, that its too late
plus supercharged cars tend to need more fuel, they are picky as fawk!
ill check out SMSP
T1R told me they didnt have a cat for my car yet? is this true?

Try A&J(see my sig), Justin(you'll see his K20 DC2R on the site) runs a T1R test pipe in his '01 DC2R and I'll be picking one up from him in a week or two.

Anyone had problems with the Omni test pipes leaking at the bell ends? I got mine in the mail the other day and one of the bell ends seems to have been expanded to much. the other bell end is a nice snug fit.
I too have the T1R exhaust and what i thought was best was T1R test pipe..
and as white rocket said look to AJ racing thats where i got my set up..
but if not i've heard smsp is good aswell

Understatement of the year... I love his stuff and his welds are hard to beat. But I can't afford anything more then his test pipes

prepare yourself for the funniest post of the year....ready...here i go.
I would suggest the omni test pipe...it's 2.5", very reasonably priced, and best of all, it will match your new lug nuts and ce28's PERFECTLY

I ran a resonated testpipe for a while, if you were going to choose between a straight pipe and a resonated testpipe, hands down get the resonated one. T1R is great. Not many others to choose from, and hell, its usually under $100 if you find one on sale.

screw the environment, our president doesn't even care about the environment, why sould we?
and if you say, well if the president jumped off the bridge would you? NO, i'd just laugh...
i've got a T1R test pipe on the way for my setup...should be noice...
