The engine codes for the 86 accord are the following:

1986 Accord: 2.0L(1955cc), BS, 2bbl, SOHC 12-valve
1986 Accord LXi: 2.0L(1955cc), BT, EFI, SOHC 12-valve

I assume you don't have the lx-i so your engine code would be the BS. If you want 3rd generation specific information I would check http://www.3geez.com. Here is a few links:

http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=77 <==engine codes
http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=38161 <===performance for the carb'd accord
http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=29259 <===interchangable parts within the 3rd gen

and so on and so on....great site .

I want to say the a20 was the jdm engine...some more reading on 3geez would probably net me the answer.

the bs was the same as the a20, but it's just a holdover from the previous year... just the code is different... everything else is pretty much the same...
