1975 Toyota Corolla SR5 ITC
Car set track record in 1999 at Summit Point before we bought it.
Will also be putting together a Honda Civic for H1 in ECHC which is close to IT rules.

I'll be running ITC in the NWR Solo-I program this season. Just got my Novice license in the mail yesterday. It's not quite W2W, but at least it's a step in the right direction.
'94 Integra GSR. ITS/H3 Build.

Well... that cat just jumped out of the bag. Who will be the pilot?
Valid question considering everyone in the damned family is a racer.
(note: my guess is the Politi who is often seen beating up on HPDE groups in a Chevy S10 pickup).

Listings can be pesky, as you probably already know, and not everything is actually eligible. Here's what I can tell you from the '02 rules:
80-82 Corolla (1.8l) - ITB @ 2310 pounds
83-87 Corolla/SR5 (1.6) ITC @ 2270 pounds
87 Corolla SR5 (1.6) - ITB @ 2330 pounds (see about the weird stuff?)
68-73 PL510 (1.6) - ITC @2170 pounds
The 510 is an effective, proven commodity in ITC but the Corolla options are not as popular/competitive, generally.
You can get a quick overview of eligibility (although not completely up-to-date), at http://toyota.shults.com/cgi-bin/scca/scca.cgi if you are interested. Let me know if there are other questions - glad to help.

Why ITC over CSP for Solo I? Just wondering.
--------------------------
Cars in Improved classes will be prepared to SCCA Improved Touring rules, SCCA Street Prepared rules or Street Touring rules, CACC Street Prepared or Super Stock rules or ICSCC Conference Production rules.
Cars that are prepared to SCCA Improved Touring rules will run their SCCA GCR IT Classification.
All forced air inducted automobiles power by a gasoline engine will be classed by
doubling their displacement.
Cars that are competing on DOT tires and do not conform to the preparation allowances of the above listed class rules will be allowed to compete in ITE.
ITS -
All cars with a displacement from 4.6 liters to 5.9 liters (except 5.0 liter as noted under ITA). Note: ITS is now a restricted class, allowing only the modifications noted by the standards listed above.
ITA -
All cars with a displacement from 3.0 liters to 4.5 liters and 5.0 liter normally aspirated sedans (4+ seats).
ITB -
All cars with a displacement from 2.1 liters to 2.9 liters.
ITC -
All cars with a displacement of 2.0 liters or less.
ITE -
All cars with a displacement over 5.9 liters and/or all cars on DOT tires that do not conform to the listed preparation standards for any other IT class/category.

The short story is springs, bars and struts/shocks (no remote reserviors); safety equipment (cage, harness, window net, kill switch, fire system); moderate interior stripping (pass. seat stays); gearbox final drive ratio and diff are free, gear ratios as delivered; brake pads/shoes, lines, ducting allowed (rotors/drums OEM); wheel diameter is spec'd (typically stock diameter), tires must fit under fenders, spacers allowed; engines are basically stock (which confuses a lot of new folks), allowing header, aftermarket ignition bits, +.5 comp. rat., .040" overbore, balancing, port matching up to 1" from manifold mating surface - and not much else.

I also drive a CRX in ITA. This year I'm giving spec miata a try, but will still do a couple races with the CRX. What Knestis listed is a good summary of the things you can do in IT.

Hey Alex.... you ever do a SARRC, ProIT & ECR all in the same weekend? I wanted to do all three when we come down in March. The schedule looks pretty tight though.

Well you could make your switch to a GT class not when you are more experienced, but whenever you win the lottery.
GT and even Production classes are much more expensive than IT. Just the chassis alone, without motor and transmission for a GT4/3/2 car runs around $60K.And the racing in IT is without a doubt at a much higher level than what you see in regional and even national GT races. You can be in GT4 for example and win half of the races you enter simply because you are only racing against one or two other people. Often times, the winning cars in GT5/4/3 and also EP/GP/HP run slower times than the winning ITA/ITS cars, so that says a lot about the "skill" in IT. BTW, the 2nd place finisher in ITS at the ARRC came 2nd in GT at the Daytona 24 hrs in Porsche GT3R out of 26 cars I believe. Great drive for Sylvain Tremblay! That also says a lot for the ITS winner and the other top runners. The best driver I know around here in Atlanta/GA by the name of Tom Fowler also spends his time in IT. Only at the Runoffs you'll find good competition for GT classes. If you have lots of money and value bringing home a trophy home every weekend, build a GT/Production car. If you want to challenge yourself against other good drivers and get experience racing wheel to wheel for position, then IT is the best option. It's also cheaper. Also try running Honda Challenge races because I'm sure they'll have a "friendlier" environment on the track.
Scott, yes we've run SARRC/Pro-IT and ECR in the same weekend on the same car. Most I've done was two of them, so I can't say how it is doing all three. But with one car it is possible to do all of them. Only a mechanical problem that would require an extensive fix would probably force you to miss a practice session for one of the races.

Alex... I'm sending my registration today for all three races, so it should be a very busy weekend for me.
Assuming I have no major car problems, I may not even get OUT of the car on Saturday since I'll only have 15-minute breaks between 6 practice & qualifying sessions. Sunday will be fun... enduro in the morning, then 4 hours off before the ProIT race. You guys running the A car or just the Miata's?
What's the weather link at Atlanta in March?

Actually the rules changed recently, and a lot more gutting of the interior, including the passenger seat, is allowed - Grumpy

As of now we're running just the ECR with the miata. But there's a chance we might enter the Pro-IT with the A car if something that I'm working on works out. Either way see you there. You're going to be soo busy!! lol
You have a super-secret plan for making the ITS -> ITA thing work out? Want to share it? I have been amazed at the lopsided classifications in S - particularly as it applies to a whole pile of recent, 2-litre, FWD cars - Neon, SE-R, VW2.016v, Civic EX, etc. I would LOVE to run a car of this type but the formula bites.
