Toying With the Big Dogs...What a car...
Driving down to the City (San Francisco) to pick a pair of Del Slow seats, I ran into three convertible SL500 Mercedes speeding up the empty three lanes 101 toward the Beautiful Golden gate bridge on early Sunday morning doing about 90-95MPH. I couldn't help it but to join in with the parade. What a car. What a machine. The Type R hugged the curve like a skillful Tango dancer. The rushing morning breeze and the raw sound of V-tec sounded better than any Tango music that I ever heard off. Dare I say “the harder I push, the better it run”. It is TRULY an “ultimate driving machine”.

When you get to be as old as I am, you learned to be less bias and you take life head-on with more flavors. The Tango, the breeze...They will all come to you. Just wait and see.

I agree. Sometimes its the little things in life that matter most. Nothing better than putting the windows down, turning up the music, and cruising aimlessly in the R on a nice crisp cool night.

You mean, "speeding down the empty three lanes". Not only are you driving down to the city, but the road decreases in elevation down through Marin as it approaches the bridge.
And, if you're on that fun drive on an early Sunday morning again, before you get to the bridge, take a side trip and drive up to the top of Mt. Tam.

When you get to be as old as I am - and I bet I'm older than you are - rock music is the soundtrack of your life. Just wait and see.

Actually, the north side of the tunel is up hill and the south side is down hill. Hey! You seem to know the area so well. You may be older than I am. But, I got over the rock music a long time ago.

Ha, I just watched a guy wreck his Camaro outside my window, with no one else around. He fishtailed coming around a left turn, over corrected and lifted, ended up backwards on the curb outside the turn.
Drive safely, or do it on a track.
