trailer on...
i didnt really know where to post this, but since i'm going to be using it for two shifter karts i figured i would post it here.
well i'm planning on buying a 4x8 foldable trailer with a max load of 980 pounds, it cost about 350 to 400 with tax. im going to use it to tow two shifter karts and i was planning on towing it with a 93 plelude (h23 non vtec) i was just wondering if this would be a good idea since its only two shifter karts that im going to be towing. and where and what do i need to buy to get the hitch on the car, do they make hitches specifically for the car??? dont really know anything about trailers, any help would be great, by the way i'm only buying the trailer cause its 400 bucks and all my money went on buying the kart so i cant afford a truck right now, haha
here's the pick of the trailer, karts should go side by side(sideways)

Try this:

2000lb load rating, so you should be fine, as long as both your karts and gear don't weigh more than 1000lbs. or so.
Hope this helps. Good luck with the karting and post up some pics.

Those bare-frame trailers are popular as tire-haulers with the autox/HPDE guys.
A few things...
- The frame will need re-inforced - by itself, it is flexy. Mount a thick piece of plywood to it, cut to fit well.
- Check the weight of the trailer and karts - you're probably getting a bit heavy for a Prelude (esp with spare wheels and gear). Not that you need a 1 ton truck - a Volvo wagon would do it fine.
- If you have the choice of larger trailer wheels (12" instead of 10"), do it. Less wear on bearings.
- Add grease fittings to trailer wheels. Consider "Bearing Buddies". Add grease before every major trip.
- Buy a spare wheels for the trailer and bolt it to the frame.

just a few data points:
The previous owner of my 1st prelude towed a jetski with it.
it was a 5-speed S model (F22).
The SI has more torque, more horsepower, and MUCH shorter gearing then the S.
when I bought the S model (the one that towed a jet ski regularly), it had 80,000 miles on it. The clutch felt fine. I beat the crap out of it (16 year old driving
) for another 30,000 miles before the clutch needed replacement.

thanks for the link, and heres some pics also taken at willow a while back.
by the way i think the 2 karts should be towed fine by the prelude. i mean both karts probably weight about 400 together if that (like having four people in the car) and i dont really haul a lot of tires really, just one other extra set.
my kart on stand

it came with a hammer tone powder coat when i bought it

How do you plan to stack the karts? And carry their stands, tools, etc?
Is your car automatic or manual? If it's a slushbox, add a tranny cooler. And maybe an oil cooler for either.

side by side sideways, or make a little stand for the other one where i can stack it up on top of the other. Stands and tools go into truck and my other stuff goes in the back seat
if you read your prelude manual it will say max towing capacity = 700lbs (Including passenger weight). With a trailer, 2 carts, tools, and yourself in the car I'm betting you will be over that limit. I'm sure many people use their cars to tow more than they should, but I wouldn't.
