That is one heck of a sentence! Sorry to hear that, at least you are ok, the car can be replaced.
Check Autotrader.com for Rs with similar milage so you can show how much they are selling for. I am sure you will get a low offer at first but you should be able to battle them with that info.

Its an R, you should be able to get what people are selling theirs for. Its hard to value a car that doesn't really show up on the resale market as often as Camrys and Tauruses. It might take a little while, but keep fighting until they give you everybit of what its worth. Don't crack and take the first check they want to sign to you if you don't think its enough. Sorry to hear about your loss. I know how I'd feel if I lost my Teg...and its just an LS.
bummer, but glad to hear you're ok....
I fought the insurance company for msrp + tax of my itr after owning it for 2 years!

Insurance companies will not have any way to check value of ITR, so you must do it and document your work to get anything close to market value. Here's what I did when my 1st ITR was stolen back in 1999: Get list of ITR's that were listed for sale, either in newspapers near me or simply posted on various web sites; get as much info as possible regarding mileage, year, condition, asking price, and most important seller's contact info; contact seller for details of whether they sold their car and for what price, explaining why you are doing this; calculate what the average is as well as the high/low values and what the corresponding condition/mileage are; try to figure out where your car would be in that range of condition/mileage and you have a sense of what your value might be; present this to your insurance company and begin negotiating. Whatever value you and they agree to, make sure to add the state sales tax rate to reach a final settlement value, less any deductible. Good luck.
