vtec issue on crx with y8 swap
Ok, I know this isnt the BEST way to run vtec, but this is the way im doing it, so...
I've got a y8 in my 89 crx right now. Im using the stock 89 pm6 ecu running with the fields sfc-vtec controller.
I've checked all of my connections a number of times just to be sure, and everything seems to be good. I've got the fields vtec point set at 4700 right now, but when the car gets to that, it seems like nothing changes, I cant feel or hear the vtec kicking in.
I've pulled the solenoid off the motor and tested it out by applying 12+ to it, and it works. It clicks over as soon as it senses the voltage. So im assuming the solenoid is still in good shape.
What else can I look for?
Also, anyone have any idea at all what I should set the fuel to on the fields unit after the vtec crossover point? (percentage wise) I know I should be adding a bit more fuel after vtec kicks in, but Im just not sure how much.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, TIA.
Tyson.
