Default 97 Hatch swap...

I was just wondering... would it be possible to get a descent swap on my 97 dx hatch for 1k? If so, what engine would u guys recommend? Also, I would not need to pay for installation since my uncle will help me out hehe. Thanks in advance.

Yea, I was leaning towards the b18b but still... unless I find a good priced used one from h-t, its still pretty pricey (hmotors) Lol, im just tired of the y7's lack of power

Just get a y8 or z6 tranny and go on from there. It will help you accelerate better. And if you need a little more power you can do a vtec head swap which will net you about 30 more hp at the flywheel.

That's my setup. y7 block, y8 head, z6 tranny. It's not super powerful, but it gets me up and around town quicker than the stock setup did.
