memory fab vs. sparco torino
im assuming this is the right forum to put this in because ppl in here probably use these seats the most...i was wondering which seat you would choose and why, i want to buy a seat for my dc2 and can not decide between these two...thanks
Torino is a reclining seat. MF is a fixed seat design. I don't like Torinos but if you want a reclining seat then get a Recaro...IMO
Most sactioning bodies mandate a fixed seat for a race car and seeing how this a Road-race forum I doubt this is the correct place for asking questions about reclining seats.

Apples and oranges.
One is a reclineable heavily padded seat for street driving and the other is a solid shell lightweight racing seat. Your priorities should make this a simple choice.

thanks for the replies...my car will probably be more of a daily driver with light track use...so i was wondering if the MF will be a comfortable enough seat for daily driving use...in other words, does anyone have this seat on their daily driver?
A fixed seat on a daily driver is dangerous without rollover protection. When a car flips a seat back is designed to break so if the roof caves in you don't get decapitated. A roll cage on a daily driver harbors on stupidity because you will end up with a broken skull if you hit your head on the roll cage.
Just like all seats you need to sit in one yourself to make that judgement call. Find a car with a solid shell seat in it and see how hard it is to get in and out of and think about doing that several times every day. No one here is going to be able to make that call for you. Some people do it, some don't.
I've parked my **** in both of the Memory Fab seats, and a Torino and didn't find any of them particularly comfortable, but I'm >6'1" and 240lbs. What are you using the car for? I'd probably go with Sparco for a dual-use car with back seats. If it's a dedicated track car, or if you're willing to give up rear seat access and adjustability the Memory Fab seats would work fine. The Memory Fab guys were cool, and the seats seemed pretty decent, but I would consider looking at something FIA homologated, if only for peace of mind.

Edit: I run a Sparco Sprint in my Miata (daily driver), but it's got a roll bar. If I didn't need it to physically fit in the car I'd rip it out in a heartbeat. It's not uncomfortable, but it is a pita to get in and out of with the top up.

Just an FYI the MF seats can be ordered with FIA certs but they cost about twice as much (for those who have to have FIA cert) but are no different then the non-FIA cert seats.

thats nice to here, i wondered why non of the seats the USA sees from japan come with the certification, now these seats are able to come with it and so are bride.

Good to know. I remember when they first started offering them in the US and wondering about the construction quality, since no racers were using them and they looked like knockoff copies of Recaros.

If you want a better-than-stock cheap alternative, consider a pair of Del Sol seats. They're a direct swap into most cars (may have to change the seat rails), hug fairly nicely, are comfy, and cost about 1/8th the price of Sparcos or Recaros ($150-250). Less bling factor, but then you can spend the remaining $600 or whatever on something else.
