Stock honda ignition limits with turbo?
I have the D16Z6 sohc vtec. Putting my turbo on now when all the damn snow goes.
Just wondering what the limits of the stock ignition will be. I'm not boosting over 8psi the summer (at least thats what I'm thinking now).
So whats the deal?

So then the stock stuf is ok? Some dude @ the local tuner shop was tellin me that they're 'poo pooe' and that's the FIRST thing i should do next even if not going turbo.....
Must be making a good markup on the ignition then ! A properly working, stock ignition will work for most NA/moderate boost applications. Watch out for shops and their advice. Kerry
when i had stock ingition i was getting miss fire under 10-12 psi and spark plugs dont last no time with it but now i got the msd setup and i love it
I've had the stock ignition run fine at 7psi, but I went MSD for the BTM function.
The car seems to run better, idle smoother, and start faster.
You don't NEED it though.
Randy
BTW-I can run stock plugs too, no cold plugs for me.

yeah either the guy was tryin to sell unwanted crap or he is stupid or he was mistaken. If he was mistaken then he was talking about the fuel system.
Honda's Fuel Pump sux! You can easily max em out at about 7psi boost.
