Whats up guys, I am looking to buy my first bike,and this is what I have come up w/. well here is the deal, A budy of mine has a 01' CBR600F4i that he is selling because he recently wrecked his H22 Del Sol... anyways, He is asking $5000 for the bike, 2 helmets, 2 spare tires, and a rear stand. the bike has been painted charcoal grey, plenty of carbon fiber goodies, and it has a FULL 2 Bros. Carbon exhaust. Oh yeah and it only has 4900 miles on it. So my question is do you guys think that this is a good deal, or am i taking one in the *** if i go ahead w/ it. my only concern is that it is 4 yrs old. any input would be great. Thanks - Ryan

 

I'd say it's not TOO bad, but for a friend-to-friend deal, I'd have him come down a little

 

i got my 03 RR for about that much money. w/o all the extra goodie.

 

F4I is a good starter bike

 

Price is ok? Why was the bike repainted? My brother bought a 01 F4i with 10k miles for 5 gs with Kerker full exhaust, then again were from California so i dont know how the market for bikes in your area..

 

He simply painted it because he wanted to... He bought it 11 months ago, and has only put 200 miles on it. It was Red and White when he got it, but wanted something different. The Title is CLEAR

 

I sold my 2001 f4i with 8k miles for $4000 with a helmet.

Do the helmets fit you correctly? They're useless if not. I agree with some of the other posters that your friend should give you a much better deal than $5k.

And if the bike has been maintained, 4 years is nothing. My F3 was a '95 and was running strong with 55k miles before I sold her.

 

yes one of the helmets fits perfectly, and the other one is a little smaller(for a girl). as far as maintenance goes, he has all recipts, and records of oil change and gearbox oil change. also the brake fluid was just changed 2 weeks ago.
