Default 1999 integra ecu

hello everybody, i am new here, anyways...i have a 99 ls b18b, and i want to chip the ecu because of the speed limiter and the redline, etc. however, when i look on ebay i notice there are not any chips for a 99 ls. there was a guy selling an ecu, and it says i need a obd1 wire harness. so i want to know will that ecu not make the abs work and are there any other things that the ecu will not make work. so can anyone give me a suggestion on what i should do. thank you

obd2 ecus can't be chipped.
what i recommend is, an obd1 ls ecu, and a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness for the obd1 ecu to connect. and the abs works for mine.
why did you wanna raise the rev limiter anyway? do you have a lot of internal work done? and also, i wouldn't recommend just buying a chip, each car is different and tuning is the best solution

First of all, since nobody did it for me, and I like to feel welcomed, I will say... Welcome. (Makes me wonder if I'm really welcomed here.... hmmm...)

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you, just a question and my opinion, based on my experience and what I know.

The question. What is the speed limit? I have yet to hit one on mine. Very curious.

The opinion. On my LS, at about 6600 RPM it sounds like it's starting to drop off, and the B-series grr starts to become a mono tone, as in it's not breathing as well. IF your 'Teg is stock internally I don't forsee any advantage to you, plus it is known that spinning an engine faster puts more stress on the internals than using forced induction. Having said that, it seems that you would need to get stronger rods and bolts (if you want it to last), and cams ground for higher RPMs, although you would hurt your idle. That's where VTEC comes in.

You didn't mention any mods on your car, that's why I'm assuming there is not. I'm not trying to discourage, just spreading to you what I know. I don't think you'll get the advantage you're looking for with just the one part. Of course that's the case with almost anything. Things need to compliment each other.

Good luck in your quest!

Again, welcome.

Without internal work done you will regret it

I believe the abs is a different unit in itself located behind the rear pass side panel (where the rear speaker is located). So changing the ecu will not effect the abs.

As for chipping, as it was said earlier, you'll need an 94-95 (obd1) ecu and have someone chip it for you, along with the wiring harness to be able to plug in the new ecu to your obd2a wiring.

Contact user "kenji" for all your chipping needs (Use the "search" link up top). He can answer all your questions and sell you what you will need.

Now the next question is, do you need it? Do you have the mods that would warrant the need to raise the rev limiter, etc?

BTW, welcome to the board!

Good luck!
