Default Picking up used bike...what to look for?

Hey I'm picking up my 04 gsxr 600 tomorrow. What advice you guys can give me so I can look for. Picking up from private seller, not from dealer. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

what i look for is, if its runs good, idle ect. then i look for signs of it being down. if i find a sign, look what things got ruind, changed ect. test ride it, go steady pace, take hands off bars alittle and see how it goes.look for a shake especialy if its been down. also check the vins, make sure it matches the reg.

on an OLDER used bike check the chain, sprocket, tires, ROTORS (very expensive if they need to be replaced), brake pads, stuff like that... if a bike has 600 miles on it and a smoked rear tire, and it was the kids first bike, chances are he didnt smoke the tire in the twisties....... burnouts under 600 miles are no good

dude thats ******* awesome! congrats on the bike. when i get my bike we have to ride. Im having a little trouble right now, cuz i have to wait for Escrow to close. Then everything is a go! I got to ride my friends 600rr yesterday for an hour. I took it out got used to the turned and clutch release and acceleration. I am a real big person and its true what they say " a 600" is fine for everyone even if your as big as me and you think u need more power. you dont! I get to ride my friends 750 today now :-) best of luck and be safe out their man!

Make sure the tires aren't all chewed up on the sides, Make sure there are no bolts with holes/wire in them, fork seals, clutch, and then all the visual things to make sure it hasn't been down. big things are the tires/bolts IMO (wanna make sure it wasn't raced at the track)
