Default My first tiem welding.

This is just a copy/paste of my first welds yesterday then my welds from today when I was installing my exhaust. I just wanted to see what you guys thought of the improvement.

It is with a lincoln electric flux core welder. It can be converted to gas I am welding the seams on a Clothes line support thing. I needed some practice befor I start welding my exhaust. I will be praticign more later, but I have to go to work.

I went to walmart to get a cutting wheel for my angle grinder and of course they are out of them. wtf. Now I have to wait until tomorrow to get this **** done, and I work all day tomorrow. :?

Here are a couple pics of one of the flanges I welded today. I'm pretty pleased with how this one turned out. part of it looks like *** because I had to break the flange off like 3 times before I got the angle right.

heat up, and slow down.
watch the puddle, not so much the crack or whatever your girlfriend is doing. heh.

just watch the puddle, go weld on some scrap. make the puddle flow good, get your rythm down so that it flows in good, then worry about making pretty welds.

most of that weld around the flange looks as good as you're gonna get with gassless fluxcore.

Ya I hate welding with flux core, but your last pic doesnt look too bad. Like eveyrone else said, try for a little more heat.

well that flange weld made good penetration. I think I got a good balance of heat, wire feed, and me moving with the wire. At least until I get better with higher heat. If I go up to the next level I just burn holes straight through. lol
