WV ITR August Meet: UPDATED
Time is winding down-- please respond if you plan to attend!
Well, there is more than enough interest for me to try to make definite plans. Please vote for which weekend would be the best for you.
Below are 3 images. The first is to give you guys an idea of the location (the exact location will be kept private, please PM me for directions). The second is an image of the mountain ridges with roads we can drive on. The third is an image of a lake resort area which we can take a very nice drive through, and relax at.

Here are some tentative plans:
Friday: We all meet up at my home in WV. It would be a day just to relax, as I am sure people would be arriving at different times depending on where they are coming from. Friday night: We chow down at a great local restaurant I know of, then head off to the microbrewery in town. We can have some wings, some great micro-brew, or your favorite draft/bottle.
Saturday: Take an easy morning, then head out to the roads I posted about above (see image on first post). At the end of a drive is a great restaurant that we can eat or, or a really nice park 10 minutes further that we can have a BBQ, fish, swim, and even mountain climb if you dare. Saturday night, we get a keg or hit the bars. *Tons of great places to take pics of the R's during the drive
Sunday: In the morning we would take a short rive to a MD state park (where we are staying is on the MD border). For lunch we would head down to Deep Creek, or another park, where we would do a BBQ or eat at a local restaurant, (possibly some boating?), followed by a great drive lead by Ford Prefect. The end of the drive would lead us to the interstate to get home.
Ford Prefect can plan us a great drive on Sunday. I know the area as well and can tell you its a very scenic place to drive, and very fun to drive as well.
--------------------------------------------
Accommodations: I have a home with 7 beds, 1 cot, and 1 couch. If all beds are filled, then people are welcome to take floor space, or we could look into a local resorts bunkhouse for a group rate. (cheap summer rates) Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Additional area info: Our family owns a mountain side 39 minutes from the location of where we would meet. Great for camping, quading etc. I am also a member of a local club that gives us access for almost 70,000 acres of wilderness for fishing, quading, or target shooting.
Fishing Info:
WV: its $5 for a 3 day license. This will not be needed if we wish at the base of the mountain side owned by my family, which is chock full of native brook trout (private property) There are many other areas great to fish, but a license would be required.
MD: (fees for a non resident license vary by state of residence) There are many great places to fish, and many good catches come out of them.
Target Shooting: There are plenty of places to do target shooting for those interested. There is locally a 100yd range, a 500yd range, a 1000yd range, and even a 5000yd range (not exactly sure WHY there is a marker for 5000 yd's, but there is). There is no cost for the use of the ranges.
ITR Pictures There are MANY great places to take photo's of our R's with amazing backdrops, ranging from cliff sides, waterfalls, lakes, forsests, mountainous background, grassy fields, etc. I am sure we could take some amazing pictures of our caR's.
I understand its too early for some of you to really pick a date that is best for you. Just vote as the time comes closer and you have a better idea of your availability.
Let me know what you guys think, your suggestions, etc. We have alot of options, and there are alot of things to do and places to go.
If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me.

Those plans are way to far ahread for me... I probably won't know until the month before.
I'll do my best to come on what ever day is picked. Are there any trails to go MTBing on?

There are TONS of them, including some very challenging double black diamond. If you cant bring a bike, I will bring my cannondale, or you can rent them for a low price from a store in town.

I figured the thread would die down early since the meet is so far off. I will try to keep it active by posting new information, and really try to get things going in early July.
