Front end clunking.. Is my wheel going to fall off?
Okay so heres how it all starts..
I get the car back in October of 2004, i strip it down, repaint it and tune the motor and do the regular stuff for the motor (b18c)
Now my dads friend came to do a saftey, checked the wheels, the passenger front had a very small amount of play (movment of the top of the tire in and out) he said i should check it ASAP.
Me being the lazy guy i am i forgot about it, untill about 6 months ago, whenever i would take off it would feel like wheelhop but it wasnt, it was clunking from the passenger side, i ignore it. It comes time to do my clutch, When im done i check all the suspention make sure everything is tight.
I notice no noticable play from any of the suspention components anywhere.. Including the passenger front. So i ignore it for about 3 months.
Now (last week) its starting to get worse, but the clunking feels almost deeper in, it dosent sound like its comming right from the wheelbearing, it sounds on the top somewhere.
Now.. On the suspention, where the Upper balljoint connects, that C shape suspention part that goes behind the strut/shock assembly and has the 2 bolts that go in from the engine bay to hold it inplace, and it has that other C shape piece that goes on, and goes around the back of the strut. Where that C shape pivots (right where its bolted to the shock tower) theres bushings in there, i was told they could be shot/loose bolts.. IS THIS A POSSIBLITY??
What should i check? Or should i just do the front end.. Balljoints, bushings, and wheelbearings?
Any Idea's?

well, jack the car up and try to move the wheel from side to side, then top and bottom. if it wobbles, then i'd check your hub bearing and ball joints.
if it doesnt wobble, then the clunking could come from a bad rack-and-pinion or even bad motor mounts. do you get cluncking only at take offs or when you go over small bumps too?
sounds like its the ball joint to me though. i think hub bearings tend to squeal when they're bad. that c shaped piece is what people refer to as 'A-arms'. and the ball joint connecting the A-arm to the knuckle can go bad. i've heard of them breaking apart and seriously damaging the car. the other 'anchor bolt's that hold the A-arm down, and go into the engine bay, don't really go bad. but your case could always be an exception.

Thanks dude, i figured it out.
Where the A Arm bolts to the shock tower worked its way loose.. Not good i know. I tightened both nuts up on the shock tower and its all good!
