Default Accord Tune up and Chip ?

So just got the accord all back to new. Had my honda mechanic change the accessory belts, adjust valves, new gaskets, grommets, plugs, wires, cap, all honda parts and fluids, new tranny fluid, new radiator fluid, brake fluid, fuel service, went over the car with a fine comb. WOW what a diff, more responsive, and runs great, however she still has a rough idle, but i have found this normal on all old accords. I hate that the speed limiter kicks in at a mere 115 mph, but buddys 94 EX does not have a governor. Do i need to completely swap ECU's or how do i get rid of the top speed limiter on this. Its a 95 LX accord sedan auto

is this the same motor that came in the accord from the factory? If so, it shouldn't have a speed governor. The governors came with the OBDII (96+ models)

First off why are you wanting to go faster than 115mph in an auto?

govenors are set at about 90 to 100mph if your hitting 115mph and not climbing any more, thats because it cant go no more. thats all your car puts out. your car is maxed out at 115mph its not a govenor so dont worry about the chip. invest in intake/headers/exhaust and go from there.

No no no guys. It will hit 115, at like 4600 RPMS, and then a KICK KICK sensation kicks in, making the car knock. Yes it is the factory motor, and sometimes i like to hit 130-140 if there is enough road. I think its the fuel cutting off??

The LXs have a speed limiter set at 115. THe EXs do not.

It's pretty unnecessary to go above 115, IMO. For the record, does a 01' Accord F23A4, 5spd stop at 115 also or does this only apply to the f22 serires?

next time you decide to try and go 130 on an open stretch of road..call your close fam and tell em you love them just in case...cause if you have a blow out at 130...kiss your A$$ bye bye. lost one of my best buds from a blow out at 110-115(police est).. a tire popped, started fishtailing, tire came off the rim,rim caught the pavement..flipped 7 times i think??

pretty stupid to go that fast unless your on a track (IMO) and theirs medics around if something bad happens. least you wont hit a tree or end up in a ditch in the middle of nowhere and bleed to death.

theres no need to go any faster than 115.... the reason you cant go any faster is becuase auto sucks.... if you want to go fast get a manual car and then take it to the track....

The limiter will kick in at 115 mph even on a 5spd. Just put in an EX ECU. And hey, at least this guy has enough ***** to go 115.

On the track I would applaud it...on a PUBLIC road it shows he doesn't have brains .

Guys, guys. Ive been driving for a long time, and have hit well over 140+ several times in my Acura Legend and Infiniti i30. I always make sure my car is perfect and tires are properly inflated, and in good condition. Also i do not attempt this on a crowded road, i make sure its clear and do not hold the speed once i reach it. Just once in a while i hit high speed for a rush, then im over it for a while. I appreciate the concern tho. Can i really throw an EX ecu in and thats it??? That would be nice. ALSO, LOOKIN FOR EX RIMS!!!! or even prelude 4 lug! PM me (15's preferibly)

are you sure you are using the right tires? what rating are they, imagine they blew out cause they were a rated or something, that would suck for you.

alryte, u guys should stop flaming him for hitting his max speed, im sure u guys have done the same too, and if not then ur not driving fast enough...but thats off the point, there are several chips on the market that will disable ur governor, one that i know of is by HKS, i believe its called the "fuel cut defencer"? if i remember correctly it disables boost limiters and speed governors...hope this helps

you can brag about all the speed you want... but a warning seriously withought a full cage and on a public road speeds like that are idiotic.. not only are you endangering yourself but also many others around you.... i personaly dont htink its worth my life or worth yours to be speeding around that fast for no reason in public.. at that speed also if you are caught its likely you have a lot more than a ticket.. either looking at jail time or having your license taken for a very long time... just stop now while you still have the chance

ok fine, yoru tires are good and their isnt anyone around..your clipping along at 130 because you like the rush...and a nice lil armadillo runs out in front of you..or a deer...basically any forest critter out there that likes to commit suicide.
whatcha gonna do?
maneuver out of the way w/your mad skillz cause youve been driving for a long time? at 130? like i said..kiss your A$$ bye bye.
tires fail, anythign can happen. on a track, knock yourself out. but on an open road?? suicide..but really, why do i even care about this??

Ok, in your profile it says you're 23....honestly that isn't **** for your so called 'driving experience'.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Accord95Lxxx &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">and have hit well over 140+ several times in my Acura Legend and Infiniti i30. Good for you but why are you doing those speeds...have you ever heard of tires failing or something happening all of a sudden like a pothole or a wet spot in the road or a animal jumping out in front of you; all of which will make you lose control. I am not flaming I am just trying to show you that doing those speeds on a public road will put you in jail and you WILL lose your license NTM your insurance rate will go through the roof. I am just trying to open your eyes to your own stupidity.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Accord95Lxxx &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i make sure its clear and do not hold the speed once i reach it. Rush? If you want a rush try going to auto-x events or go to the drag strip...now THAT is fun and guess what....IT'S LEGAL!. Why do you think these events were constructed...well the obvious answer is so people aren't doing it on the street and it provides a 'safe' alternative to being a stunna on the public roads. But these were also constructed to reduce highway/public road car accidents and death. Like I said I am not trying to preach to you in any way, but I just want you to realize there are TONS of other legal and safe alternatives than going 140mph on a public road.

JESUS KEN?! rip my head off! is it really necessary to go through all that effort of copying and pasteing everything i said to try to make me look dumb, or call me out. Dont even try to say you've never maxed out your car when you knew the conditions are right. Thank you for your concern, as i said before. I wont say JACK about haulin *** anymore on open roads. If i have access to a local track, i'd do it there.

There were points that I needed to seperate for clarity...I was in no way 'ripping your head off'. Just stating my opinion .

I did max out my car a couple of time...but that was when I didn't know anything about cars and extra legal events. I am just trying to inform you before you get caught.
