Default exhaust stinks

hi, i just installed a used spoon 4-2-1 header with brand new hi flow cat and brand new fujitsubo exhaust. driving home from the muffler shop, the exhaust fumes really stink for some reason. it smells like burned metal. is that normal? i've never installed brand new exhausts before so i am wondering if it this a normal case. if so, how long does this stink usually last for?

thanks

could take up to a month for carbon to collect in the pipes.

DO you have a high flow cat or a test pipe? If you have the test pipe could be another reason?

Yeah pretty sure thats just from the new exhaust as most would smell like that. Some people get it when they install a test pipe to so theres nothing to worry about

thanks guys. yeah they did weld on the flanges onto the cat. i had to chop my poor t1r test pipe to do it.

i just came home after a few more spirited drives. the smell has pretty much gone away since and only a little is left towards the muffler end. i also noticed it has gotten slightly louder than when i first took the car home. hopefully it won't get too much louder. i love the way it is right now.

but thanks. i just wanted to make sure it wasn't coming from my engine or that the muffler shop sold me a bad cat.

on a side note, i think my clutch is slipping. rpm's climbed so slow at WOT on 3rd gear followed by a very bad smell similar to when i burned my clutch at the 1/4 mile test.
