bought this shortie like this was told it was put by Benson, which I dont think the sleeves looks like Bensons job in no damn way, but the crank is.
Either way if interested the pistons are for sale

I highly doubt Benson did work like that, whom did you get the block from .. lets start from there

I'd like to smack whoever sleeved that.... Whats sad is Im sure someone paid good money for that shitty work...... Just look how crooked those sleeves are... GARBAGE...
As for your question, Im sure you could use it, but I dont know if I would feel safe shooting for big numbers...

The block is good to go
I used to have a sleeved block that looked just like that.
The problem is that the sleeves twist, they don't go in like that. I pulled apart a d16z6 that was making 400hp and the sleeves looked like that. I personally never used the block, but I put it in a classified here on H-T and an engine builder bought it. Apparently he didn't think it was a big deal either.
I'm guessing what happened in your case was that the sleeves started to twist, one of the owners noticed it, and put the pins in to try and stabilize the sleeves. Just an SOHC weakness. But I highly doubt that it is a Benson block because his work is done with such tight tolerances that I don't think the sleeves would twist. Don't quote me on that though because I've never seen a used SOHC benson block before.

I've never seen a block sleeved and then pinned like that. I know Benson would never do that. Even though the block is ugly, it could very well work perfect for you.
BTW, sleeves can do goofy things but I have never seen one twist as they are all held together by the neighboring sleeve.

dont mind that part we bought it like that and laughed at the old owner, he thought he blew something thats why he sold it but to find out one pistons was super slapping the valves

Oh geez, I didn't even notice that. It blows my mind how stupid some people are. You always see new threads that say "Well, I blew my motor" and you figure that's just a casualty of the tuning game. But really, I wonder how many blown motors are due to idiots who tried to assemble their own motor. People should have to pass an I.Q. test before being allowed to work on a motor.
