OBDII Diagnostic Software for Honda - is there such a thing?
Hello people! I have been trying to find any program which lets one connect to the OBDII interface on the HONDA cars to retrieve/reset codes, etc. However, not been able to find anything. Search here didn't reveal much, either.
With such a HUGE car community, I can't believe that something of this nature doesn't exist for these fine cars! Maybe I am new and don't know about it...thats why I am asking here!
Please do let me know if you are aware of such a thing!
Thanks

That's the one that I use for OBD-2 cars. OBD-1 scanners are too proprietary (and just too plain expensive) for me to justify buying them.

A general obd2 scanner will work. If you want to really read the computer and get data from it you will need a more expensive scan tool and asian cartridges. For example i have a snap on mt2500 i can hook into any car with obd2 and get codes but you need special cartridges for different cars: domestics has one, asian imports, one for audis and vws and so on.
Thanks guys. I have heard of AutoTap before, but wasn't sure how well it works. I have also seen some $100 dongle thingy they sell at Autozone/Canadian Tire etc. that connects to the OBDII port and logs some information - but again, not sure how effective it is.
I use VAGCOM for my audis and it works amazingly! I was hoping to find something like that designed just for Hondas. As you may know, even though most cars now have a std OBDII port, a lot of manufacturers still have their own additional proprietary commands and such which you can't get to with just a generic software/code reader.
As for the Snap On readers, I know about them, but they are way too expensive for us part-timers

Most people dont need all those functions though. A simple code reader is usually enough. I've seen them for as little as $29.
