Block is pretty much in new condition.
OK, I have searched and found little. I thought I would have found more info but didn't. I figured this would be the forum to throw my question up so here it is.
I am buying a used block tomarrow and want to know if there is anything I should look at. I was told allready to make sure the crank has no scratchs or anything of the sort on it. Also, the seller told me the block was honed. Isn't there a criss-cross pattern in the cylinders after honing? The block is takin apart so I get to take a look at anything in it. Any tools, or tricks? Anything at all is appreciated. Thx.

check for cracks , scars, ect . also if you have the tools check for roundness of the cylinders as far as the crank goes check for visible heat spots on the rod journals ect. other than that you should have the crank inspected for straigtness and magnafluxed to check for stress cracks not visible to your eye.
Thank you very much. I got a friend who has the tool you are talking about. Well, he says he does. So I am gonna give it a shot. Thanx alot.
