Default How To: Add Vacuum ports to my SKunk2 manifold

I'm tired of people asking where/how to get vacuum for other things so I decided to add them to my new skunk2 manifold and write about how i did it.

Things you'll need
1. 1/8 NPT Dap (Special sized tap not normally in your regular kit, ill sell you mine)
2. 21/64" Drill bit
3. Drill
4. 1/8 Brass Vacuum fitting
5. Teflon tape
6. Grease

Tools

The drill (my dad stole my nicer drill )

The motor its going on

First, you mark where you want the ports to go. Make sure it doesnt get in the way of stuff on the manifold like the IACV. Then take the 21/64 and drill the hole. Make sure you try and go in as straight as possible.

Next you grease up the tap and tap the hole. While taping the hole with the bit, spin the tap in and then reserve it out every two to three turns.

Make sure you clean out the inside of the manifold of all the shavings. I just stuck my vacuum cleaner inside the throttle body inlet and sucked everything out.

The finished product. Ill probably be installing it on Monday/Tuesday so if anyone wants to buy my Edelbrock Victor X Manifold for an LS, lemme know .

Nice The most critical part is making sure there are no shavings left in the mani, or you will start losing compression fast.

Nice job. I did that on my stock manny to replace all the tiny vacuum ports and I got flamed saying it was pointless to have large barbed vacuum nipples.
Take a look. http://forums.miataturbo.net/s...=1449

JG manifolds are made for mainly ported heads or for the most built motors in general.

Reason why he is swapping it out for a skank2 is b/c he is a copy cat. j/k he was making less power then he should have been and lost a lot of mid end power.

Skank2 PoWa!

Yes, for us Non Vtec guys - the skunk2 is usually a better option.

I will be running a JG Pro Head w/ crower 403's, and I'm still going to be running the skunk.

We just never get a chance to make use of the powerband that the JG is intended for. I wouldn't expect it to start shining until 6k.

correct! unless u have a crazzzy ported head w/ some nice cams and upgraded valvetrain.

im running a skank2 manifold on my stock b20b + turbo and it works wonderfully!
