i recently rebuilt my motor, and it's been driving fine for the past few months, except for a slight rattle that happens in low gears at low rpm, i.e. say im going 45 in 4th, and i put heavy pressure on the pedal, it will make this rattling noise, and after ~3k, the motor performs fine, no odd noises or anything to complain about. suggestions?

here are the specs, for more clarification i guess.

b18c1
ls rods/crank
jdm itr pistons
stock everything else...

i'm not exactly sure as to where the noise is coming from, other than it being extremely irritating. thanks for the help.

 

Thats detonation your hearing and its gonna kill your rings if it keeps up...Retard your base timing a bit and it will go away or at least minimize...
You will eventually need a custom tune so your engine will make the power its supposed to w/o detonating...

In the meantime, dont "lug" the engine or put too much load on it like more than 50% throttle in the higher gears...
