I was drivinq on the hiqhway and my check engine liqht came on and the car shut off on me and would crank up after that. If you all could help me fiqure out what could be wronq please let me know. My Email addy is Marcdubb2k@aol.com. The car still turns but doesnt turn completely over. it has Oil and it has plenty qas. When I tried to crank it there was a little bit of smoke cominq from behind the motor but not on the motor. If anyone has any suqqestions please let me know.

To know what is happening your going to have to go more into detail of what happened when you car shut off and what code you were throwing

 

um a code? I'm lost on that one.. I was just on the hiqhway qoinq 65mph and my check engine liqht flashed on and my caqr started slowinq down and it cut off on me and roll to a stop. after that the car wouldnt crank at all... But that same niqht it wouldnt crank for awhile but after lettinq it sit for an hour it cranked then on the hiqhway and stopped completely from crankinq...... Eq_Coupe2k

 

Under your glove box is a blue 2 pin connector, place a wire from on side to the other (a loop). Turn your igniotion switch to on, and count your blinks from your check engine light. Remember the blinks the way they appear. Eg. 2 long blinks, and 3 short blinks. Post your result.

ok i'm also not qettinq any spark from the pluqs. could it be the distributor and if so can a 91 1.5 liter distributor work on my 95?

 

still not enough detail.. does sound like a a distributor.. happen'd to me b 4...will a 1.5 dizzy fit .. wat.. wat kinda motor u have?? 1.6 vtec or... 1.5 non vtec?? anyhow...i'm not sure if a 1.5 will fit a 1.6 but...if you have a 1.5 than yes...good luck

no it won't work, it might actually fit but it will not work, reason the 91 1.5 is obd-0 and the 95 is obd-1 not compatible

What trouble code does it have stored?

 

Wheres the code? how do i check and see what code it is?

 

Oh ya and by the way I have a 1.5 non vtec. d15 and on the blue connector wire thinq it has 3 wires instead of 2 like others. Blue wire. Red and black wire and white wire

 

Check ya fuses too!! Under the dash and under the hood

 

check the code first, and let the car tell you what is wrong, if you don't know how search will tell you

Keep looking, there's a 2 pin connector around there.

 

ok I found another blue connector. 1 wire is Brown and the other wire is Black. is that the correct connector that i hook the wire up too?

Or you could use the search feature by typing in "Code 92". Someone has bound to have had the same problem as you, and you can see what fixed their problem, instead of trying educated guesses, or in some cases uneducated guesses that you will get from replies in this thread.

Try again. None of those codes are valid for a 1995 Civic.

 

The liqht flashed 9 times slowly and 2 times fast = 92 correct? and the second time it flashed 5 times and 1 time fast = 51 correct? Primary Oxyqen Sensor(51) and (92) Evaporative Emission Control System insufficient purqe flow. Please help me fix these problems... I love my eq. just like the rest of you. lol So please help!! thanks!

Correction
92 Evaporative Emission Control System insufficient purge flow
61 Primary oxygen sensor

 

ok so How do I fix these problems... ?

 

omg, lol

 

check your fuses first, and then replace the O2 sensor
