Newbie here thinking about buying a new car
Hi I've narrowed my choices down to the 05 Honda Accord and the 05 Mazda 6. Obviously you guys love your accords cuz youre on this site but can you explain why you do? (ie, value, peformance, looks, etc). Thanks for any replies
What about Saab 9.3 ??
In 2003 I tried Accord & Mazda 6 (same-generation as today). I actually liked the Mazda better because something about the position of the Honda console & shift lever (manual) was uncomfortable for ME. I got outvoted since I wasn't gonna be the primary driver for that car. Comfort & awkwardness of controls is something you gotta try for yourself.
I think the K-series 4-cyl engine in the Accord is really nice. I was gonna worry about whether the Mazda would be as reliable as a Honda.

i have the mazda6s with the V6 and a 5 speed transmission and its an excellent car. The accord is also an excellent car, but they are both aimed toward a different market, for instance the mazda i bought for 22k came with everything. There is no option i didnt get. It also has the best handling in its class. However, as stated above, the Accord is rated highly for value etc...
Its value over the years declines less than a Mazda6 and well its an Accord, it wreaks of reliability and Honda brand awareness. My 2005 mazda6, although a brilliant car, is only in its 3rd year of production, so there isnt too much to go on. I was hesitant about buying a mazda6 but let me tell you, not anymore. It also has a good aftermarket following if that is something you are considering also.
I suggest you do some research on http://www.Mazda6club.com or http://www.Mazda6tech.com and make your decisions based on good heavy research. If you want a car that is reknown for family value get the accord, if you want to have a car that is a little bit more youthful and peppy get the mazda, both have pro's and cons but the mazda as an option is also an excellent choice, oh, feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
Oh, by the way, i own both cars, an accord and a mazda6, oh, and a camry also, so feel free to make comparisons!
