both are good setups...just choose which one suits your need and go from there...there's been topics covered on both of these setups so run a search...

search please....this has been covered and asked too many times, and once questions like these arouse battles between Vtec and Non-vtec guys always resume from previous posts.

search LS turbo, Vtec Turbo, etc.

Vtec makes more power top end, LS gets better gas mileage overall, IMO.

Isn't an LS Turbo a bit easier to tune as well?

Tuning is about the same, but the vtec setup will get some blow-thru due to the over-lap of the stock cam timing, so I guess that could make tuning up top tricky ? (Dunno... I'm not a tuner by trade)

Same here I'm not 100% sure why I've just heard from a couple of people that VTEC could make things a bit complicated when you're trying to tune your turbo setup.

LS/Vtec turbo...more displacement..more power....more potential..i reccommend building the ls motor to be LS/VTEC and then going turbo

the debate recently is the fact that higher compression is actually better for the turbo application...and many a people who dropped to 9:5.1 actually fucked themselves....either way...the car will be fast.lol...i would say a gsr would be the better pick right from the jump b/c ls vtec head swap is pricey anyways.

I definitely wouldnt say theyve "fucked themselves"

Its all give and take.

The answer to your question is if you had to choose between the 2, you would choose GSR. Period. Always.

"vtec doesnt like turbos" is a ridiculous rumor started by some kid who wanted to justify to his friends why his gsr is slow and why he doesnt get a turbocharger after he was beat by his equally slow friends eclipse gs-t.
