Did you put a baffle inside of it?? It's useless without a baffle.... That thing looks like either a crappy filter or the oil level indicator.

That looks like an empty fuel filter, WTF? I agree about the baffle, gotta have something to catch the oil out of the vapor.
I would guess an ebay can doesn't have anything inside it to catch the oil, hence you need a baffle. Maybe it has one, but if not use some of that plastic steel wool/scrubbing pad from the grocery store and jam as much of that **** in there as you can. Also make sure that one hose runs to the bottom of the tank so the vapors have to pass through the baffle.
It's like; What's going to catch more oil vapors: The inside lining of the tubes and can, or the lining of the tubes and can PLUS the infinite (almost) surface area of the plastic wool?

Weird... Maybe you could find out from the company if it has something in it or how to open it. My Greddy can just unbolts...it has gaskets and everything.

ok i took it apart and shoved some baffle into the can through the 1/4'' holes man that sucked but yeah it was empty thanks hawkze i still dont know what that damn little thing is still oh well
To me, that looks like an oil level indicator (or a gutted fuel filter)
Combined with the fact that the line going from the top to the bottom of the can doesn't look like it serves a real purpose, I would say that that piece goes in the middle of the hose that goes from the top to the bottom; the oil will rise up and show in that little cylinder and in the hose, letting you know when the thing is full.
So.....cut that hose and clamp it down in there!!
