Default Really need help with 5 lug conversion on an EK

Would Type R e-brake cables from a 96 spec 4x114.3 suspension work on an EK with US Type R 5 lug conversion? All I know is the 99-00 Civic Si will work. please help me out, I want to install my 5 lug conversion.

As long as the cables attach the same way you will have no problem... you already know the length is right.

the ek e-brake cables are 2 inches longer then the dc2/eg ebrake cables. i recently swapped ek rear drum setup into my 94 si and the cables were so long i had to route them up in front of the gas tank then back down. my guess is that you will have fitment issues with an eg/dc2 cable on an ek (not long enough) i would just get the 99/00 si cables and be done with it.

Your IT-R rears didn't come with the e-brake cables?

I'm just trying to understand this:

You swapped your rear brake discs from your 94 Si out and put in some 96-00 Civic hatch rear drums in instead?

Also, concerning only the rear e-brake cables, I think they would have different lengths anyway between drums and discs on the same car. On a 5th gen Civic hatch, the DX cables weren't the same length as the Si cables.

yep.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by MDJ IKNJ &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Also, concerning only the rear e-brake cables, I think they would have different lengths anyway between drums and discs on the same car. </TD></TR></TABLE>

well, i have a 99 si, a 94 si, and a 94 cx. the cables on the 94 cx have both clips (there are 2 bolt on clips on each cable) in the appropriate spot, whereas the the ek cables on my 94 si, i was unable to get one clip i because the cable needed to be rerouted because of extra length. for all intensive purposes, the ek rear arm/drum setup is identical to the eg ones.
