Default h22 engine & tranny price

Ok guys, i was at my junk yard locale and i came across a beat prelude chassis. I went to the owner and asked if he had the engine from it. Turns out yes he does. Its a manual, 55k, engine and tranny for $850. Is this a good price? i intend on spending about 3-700 on parts, and i can get a shop to drop it for about 600. most ppl say about $3-5k total but this is about 1800. good price for engine & tranny or should i be weary?

Get the engine, ECU, axles, shift linkage, and compression/leak down numbers if they have it.

Will they warranty it?

But yes, that price is a good deal to me.

they are selling the ECU seperat but only $100
should i salvage the axels off the prelude or get different axles?
and finally yes they will warranty that it will run for 5000 miles IF i have it professionally installed

if your hood doesnt fit
just get some spacers to make it a littler taller

spacers? as in just stick some washers where the hood bolts up to the hinges?

I've seen some posts on how people remove some of the ribbing on the hood. is this good or bad (only if it comes down to it ;oP, proally spring for the cf anyway for weight reduciton)

Spacers on the hood is a good one. I have done several H series swaps, and never had hood problems. I'm sure it depends on the mounts also.
