A few days ago I posted about my Civic running like ****, The car is a 2000 Civic Si, with a Vortech S/C. It has been running fine, always gets regular service(oil change, plugs/wires, etc). Out of nowhere the other day, it started running weird. From a dead stop, and when at low RPM, the engine bogs, and makes almost a "put-put-put-put" sound. But when I get on it, and run it up into VTEC, the power seems to pretty much be there. I've had some people tell me that the catalytic converter might be plugged up. I went to take it off and check, but the bolts are stripped, so I'm going to have to have someone cut the bolts.

The CEL eventually came on, and got these codes:

P0131 - O2 sensor circuit low volts(bank 1 sensor 1)
and
P1399 - Manufacturers Control Ignition System or Misfire

So, I changed the plugs, swapped in my old wires(which were brand new), and changed the O2 sensor today. Its still running the same way. I dont have my OBD-II scanner, so I did the paperclip trick, and now I get this code:

73 random misfire cylinder 3

WTF is the problem? Could it be the catalytic converter is clogged? Change the cap and rotor? They looked fine, but I'm dying here. Need this fixed quick!!!!!!!

 

Put the spark plug from number 3 cylinder into a different cylinder, clear the codes and see if the misfire changes cylinders. If no you know its not a plug, change the wires back and clear the codes and see if it goes away if not swap the cap and rotor.

 

Ran a compression test.
Cyl 1 - 210
Cyl 2 - 210
Cyl 3 - 70
Cyl 4 - 185

Bad ring maybe?

 

id say burnt valve or melted piston. what do you have done to your engine?

 

Its supercharged. I'm going to have a leak down test done soon. I guess that should be able to tell me what the problem is. I'm so pissed about this. But i guess thats the price I pay for boost.
