Hey guys, I have a 1998 JDM b18b with a 1997 us ls(p75) ecu....in a 2000 civic coupe!!! I'm wondering if the ecu i'm connected to is not up to par with the engine?? Am i loosing hp and should I convert to obd1 ecu or chip my current ecu!!! Thanks!!! Pat

 

Change the Ecu.

 

SO I guess i'm loosing power..why and how much of a gain if I invest in a obd1 ecu...obd1 jdm vs us???( any difference )

I dont think you should be loosing power. The only reason to change over to OBDI would be for tunning/ running hondata and things to that extent. if your stock and have no real power mods, like cams, PNP, you will notice lil if any diffrence with another ECU. Its a LS engine..dyno tunning is your best bet if you do have mods and its easy to achieve with an ODBI ecu..HTH

 

Thanks...that helps alot man!! I have cold air, 4-2-1 headers, 2 1/4 full exhaust and 10.2mm wires and spark plugs with act stage 1....so dyno is not a concern for now!!!
