Making my exhaust louder?!?!
What up,
I just got an apexi n1 muffler with 2.25" custom piping without the res. The exhaust note is low as hell! its not loud at all!? I was thinking of taking the packing out of the muffler but didnt know if that would make a difference?
lemme know

You are telling me you have the Apex N1 and its not loud enough?!!!
Wow people usually complain that they are too-loud.
I would definatly NOT recommend doing it, you'll f*ck up the note completely.
And you should probably put you flame suite on for this post bro.
Louder doesnt mean faster.
edit- I would recommend waiting a couple months before you do anything. Mine changed notes after a few.

I would recommend getting a Spoon N1 exhaust, small & sleek exhaust but hella loud especially when the Vtec kicks in. My buddy has one and man o man its really loud, But thats my 2 cents

Ummm apexi n1's are pretty damn loud already......
Get a header and it'll be louder.
Clear out the muffler and you'll instantly be a ricer, and should've saved your money and got an apc weedwacker muffler from autozone.

are you running a stock cat? The best way to make it louder would be a high flow cat/test pipe or header. I'm guessing you've never had a loud exhaust before, because if you had, you would be bragging about how quiet it is.

If your N1 came with the tip insert, make sure it's not in there. If it is, take it out, and enjoy being loud.
I've owned both types of A'PEXi N1 mufflers--the kind that comes with their cat-back (because I had the cat-back) and the universal N1 Turbo on custom piping. Both are the same, but anyway, take my word for it that the thing's loud ... just as everyone else said. Even when used with my old GReddy turbo kit, I couldn't drive anywhere without being noticed because of the exhaust's volume. It's just super loud; that's the only way I can describe it.

If you have the N1 silencer in it right now, I will pay for shipping if you want to send it my way. Damn thing has been giving me a head-ache since someone stole mine. . . ****** theives
take your muffler off, i took off my greddy evo muffler to put my stock one back on but the lengths were different so i left it off for a day, that **** was loud as ****, i didnt even wanna get on it. i would get a header and a test pipe

I would leave these off. Just run with no exhuast at all. No header either would make you soo cool. Then once you become def, it really will not matter

if by "muffler" you mean "head", then

My hatch isn't even "that" loud without a muffler or cat.
I've been running open DP on the LST for a while. I need to buy a welder so I can finish it up. But the turbo quiets it down A LOT. I would actually run it without a muffler if I wanted it semi loud.
But I would actually gain power by taking off the muffler and it isn't/wont be car alarm setting off loud.
Oh yea...just leave it. You really don't want a loud exhuast. And depending where you live...you can get a ticket for it.
