Default 96 EJ8 (Ek, for the posers) CD player issues

Basically my CD player skips ALL the time and I want to know if anyone has braced/re-enforced their stock CD player to help this issue? Should I try to stiffen it up or try and give it cushion?

any help.?

EJ8 4-EvA. Anyways - What kind of CD player is it? What mounting kit are you using. Do you notice that the deck jiggles or bounces when you drive? More details!

i would try foam padding around the playing. give it cushion. it might just be a dirty laser, try a lens cleaner or getting it serviced.

Yep, I'll vote for a dirty laser as well.

I think stores like Best Buy will clean it for a small charge.

try one of those cd cleaners that have that little brush thing hanging off the bottom. It worked great for mine.

You can buy a cleaning CD from any electronics / music store. It should help quite a bit. Mine still skips quite a bit though. I think with 110K on the clock, the ol' Honda unit is just plain old getting worn out.

Thats what I'm thinking about mine too...it skips on some small bumps. I'll try the cleaner and see if I can't put some padding around to help soften the daily bumps.

thanks everyone.
