Default My Build: Pics and Info -- 85mm B18C with ITB's --

After over a year of reading/research I have finally pieced together my setup. This car will see 50% of its life on the street and the other 50% on the track, HPDE's and road racing. I wanted to build a reliable motor with an emphasis on a powerband from 4000 to 9000. I am going to use my stock ITR head and cams for now, a complete head build will be next spring. The ITR cams should provide a very broad midrange and wont suffer too much up top either. I might throw on a JUN 2 intake cam or something similar this summer, just to give the ITB's a little more air to play with.

Dan Benson does great work, and I can't wait to get her running.

Earl Laskey (Earl on H-T) provided me with EXCELLENT service and is very prompt in communication. He was always available to answer any of my questions.

Enough with the BS, heres the info and pics you guys (and gals) really want.

PS: Dyno #'s and videos will be up as soon as I get the car on the rollers.

You might need a bigger header...

The Comptech Race Header is by no means small, if I want to extract as much power as possible after the head is built I will look into a 2.0L header. For now, the Comptech will be fine. Although...a friend of mine wants to trade (+cash) me his DTR 2.0L header...

Looks good, You should port match your runners on your itb's and invest in a good set of cams, Itr's are just to small for a 2L. Other than that nice build

The ITB manifold was port matched. I'm going to wait until next spring and do everything to the head, P&P, cams & valvetrain.

Thanks for the comments

More eye candy.

Yup, as soon as we can coordinate a day/time to meet, we're gonna tune this biatch.

I don't have any cams right now, and bank account is at zero ITR's will have to suffice for the time being.

I'm diggin' the velocity stacks. I have the exact same set sitting right next to me. That is an interesting TPS mounting arrangement though. Will you be putting the injectors in the Honda locations or the Suzuki locations?

I havn't decided yet actually... Probably should considering I'm in the middle of pulling the motor as we speak.

The TPS is a little funky. Its a piece of plexi-glass I had laying around, but it made a good mounting surface for adjusting. Once I get it set perfectly I'll design a better (cleaner) mount.

Thanks for all the compliments guys, I'll be updating as much as possible.

You going to have this bad boy running for Expo? I'd love to see the car in person.

Of course.

Signed up for the dyno also. It will be interesting to see what difference a built head has on the #'s...your setup is very similar to mine, but I lack the head.

I'm hoping for 210 to 215 with stock ITR head. Torque should be in the 140's.
