hey im looking to import a RHD EK over from japan. anyone know like a website or a place to go that imports these? please let me nkow. thank you

you mean your lookin to import 3 or 4...3 of them will be for testing to be sure the car is street legal...

illegal? ummm RHD maybe... US gov't made it illegal to import almost ALL RHD vehicles late 04 early 05 and some other LHD vehicles. So good luck with that buddy... my local shop had a S14 and their R33 confiscated and destroyed and then a bill for $1200 that they charge YOU the owner for them to destroy it... better of moving to JDM land or the downunder... or Canada i guess....

the car wasn't made here...in other words the government is gonna screw ya...they wanna test the car...crash the car..to make sure it crashe's like an american made car...its ridiculous..i'd look around for an already imported RHD EK..and spend the money on that..proboly spend just as much..and if you gonna import..****..go all out and get a GTR....there not that exspensive..

yeah i dont think they can legally do that. i dont think they can just go around and say hey u have a car from japan. well u give us money to destroy ur car. thats bullshit. i wouldnt do it. i would go to jail with a ******* fight before they pull that **** on me. im 17 i get off as a minor. LOL!

yeah they can and they do as soon as they find you... it might be right after you get the car ... it might be 30 years after you've had it... took my friend wit hte s15 2 years then a customs adjent came to his door and was like "give me the keys to you're illegal imported car" and he of course said wtf no *******... and treid to close the door... but showed him the warrent and took the keys/car and sent him the bill about a month later... i use to have a copy of the papers he got from them ill look around ... or try to find the law...

go to motorex's web site.. you'll see they went out of business because its not "legal" to legalize skylines and such cars anymore... so that is pretty much proof right there too... blows eh?

o ya and ive seen a guy with a skyline that he had imported from japan its legal too and i also know a guy that has a RHD itr had it for about 6 years he takes it to the track and race the cops on the track then after he drives home hmmm if it was illegal dont you think they would pull his *** over plus he live in S.F. cops out there are straight DICKS pull people over for nothing i mean im not calling you a liar but may be you have some wrong info.

 

yeah i think if u go through customs then its fine. but maybe the person or place ur friend got the car imported it without customs. making it illegal. i mean if u go threw customs. i dont think there is a problem

Yeah, and my mail man has a RHD mini jeep. They MAKE those cars here for those special conditions. Honestly, why would you want to waste your money on a car that you sit on the other side of to drive? Just so you can say you have a RHD? Or because half of h-t drools over them. I'd rather have a quick car and sit on the normal side, than have a slow stock car and sit on the oposite side. *shrugs* that's just me though.

 

i want my car to stand out. i mean i wnat it to be my ncie car. my crx is my race car so i mean i want to have a car that people say damn thats clean. no flashy ****. just a nice clean car. and plus i want a CTR!!! LOL!

plus the u.s. gov cant just bam RHD is illegal there are process that they have to go though then the people have to vote on it and probably 90%ofpeolpe dont care if some one else car is RHD. but if his car was smuggled and didnt go through customs ya they probably take the car.
plus just because its RHD doesnt mean its imported people do RHD swaps and if that was the case dont you think they would illegalize front clips too?

 

i agree. i think the peoples cars who dont go through customs are the people who gets there cars taken away. if u do everything by the law. the law cant get u.

so the gov. drives around looking for RHD cars. i have never seen a place on registration saying is it RHD or LHD. i mean how would they know. customs lets it through. u fight it and get ur money back for the car. that is illegal to take a car and destroy it and charge u. its called grand theft auto. nomatter who does it. and if they say **** u. then move to canada which i want to do anyway. LOL!

btw...from your logic, you don't seem to know, but did you know that mail men work for the United States Postal Service? That's a U.S. government department. Just FYI.

 

ya i know that both that still comes back to no matter what the gov is NOT immune to the law last time i checked they were here to INFORCE the law so i still make a better point

um are you sure you typed in the address right? im saying this because well the motorex site is up and they are still selling skylines. the reason why skylines are legal is because motorex worked with the gov to get the cars to "us spec" why do you think its cost alot to get a skyline from motorex because they did all the work. they spent the money to get it legalized. all they are trying to do is recouping and make money. well the reason for the s15 getting taken away was because they were here ilegally under false pretenses most likely the only way you could get a s15 is for show only and if you were lucky enough to get that. i forgot what year under the old regulations they wont allow you to import. i believe the s15 fell under that regulation. i dont know what they changed but apparently right now in chicago there is a so called street legal s15 driving around. im curious to see how the paperwork looks like. but yeah in the old rules you couldnt bring in the s15. so something changed.
