Default air condition problem...

i have a 99 accord v6 (stock), and the a/c sucks. i turn it on and it blows cold air for a little then it goes to hot air. i thought it needed some freon, so i took it to my mechanic and he added some, but it still blew hot air after the recharge, he told me the compresser kept going on and off. said it might be a sensor, so im bringin it back friday cause i was busy today. any ideas on what it could be? thanks fellas.

the a/c could possibly have a leak in a line somewhere, or possibly a canister/compressor went bad if the recharge did not work, may need to replace the compressor? is my best guess or it could also be a sensor causing the compressor to go on/off like that

Was your mechanic an AC guy? If he was, he should have tested for refrigerant pressure & not just added R134a. If the pressure was OK he should have been able to test for a defective low-pressure switch or other safety switches that are built into the system. There's even a circuit which allows the ECU to disable the AC during WOT. There's a whole bunch of things (other than low refrigerant) that can cause what you described.
