planning to build y8 that can handle 75 wet shot.
any suggestions?
what's the best combo. planning to use stock y8 head, most likely ported and polished. right now, i;m focusing on the bottom end.
please give me your input, on what would you do.
my budget is $1000.
thanks

From my understanding Nitrous is more on air fuel mixture over a build, kind of like with All motor unlike boost which is infact pressure onto pistons, rods, valves, etc. so a build is a must for big power. Its always a good idea to build but its better to get a good managment. With good tuning you could use the 75 shot on a completely stock motor. If you get into the 100s then i suggest building.
dont worry about the bottom end with only a 75 shot. no2 is hard as **** on the rings with that 1000 get pistons and rods and a good set of rings.
I had a 92 ex and I had 85 dry shots of nos and I ran the track and the streets without any problems..I had a block guard, and changed my spark plug regularly and I was fine, but if you have a budget of $1000 you want to spend I would spend it on a plurge, pistons, and a good block gaurd!
a block gaurd is a pice of metel that wraps around the sleeves and keeps them from moving. as far as pistons and rods go i would go with crower rods and aries or cp pistons. o.e.m. bearing and retard your timing 3 degrees. i would not worry about a plurge kit its a waste of money its just to show how rice you can be and its a waste of n02

i was thinking about using eagle rods. do i need to forged my internals?

there's plenty of stores that sell rods and pistons, just go and look, eagle + weisco, whatever.. and compare price, bigger price bad, lower price good.. you get this. For a 75 shot and going with a stronger bottom end you kinda throw yourself in a grey area.. with rods and pistons you CAN run more than a 75 shot, but like with anything a balance must be achieved. Get your rods and pistons, get a new head gasket(which you have to replace anytime you lift your head off the block) and new studs, same thing as the hg.
Last, you need the tune the engine with that extra power your throwing at, not just the "brain" or solenoid, whatever system you go with.. make sure this is done my a competent tunner with experience.
anymore questions during your build msg me up, i don't mind helping at all. good luck

rods and pistons can be bought threw them, also you will need new bearings(acl) and the people at lightning are great.
