Default Tranny Problems HELP ASAP

well, ijust finished my mini me swap, and i used the same tranny from the motor i blew up, but i was tesy triving it, and i had gone through all the gears, about a half mile through, i stopped at a stop sign, put it in first gear, let the clutch out. started to turn right, started going up hill, and it felt like the clutch totally went out. it went into every gear ok, but it seemed like the clutch wouldnt engage, so i took the car back o my house, dropped the tranny, clutch was fine, everything looked ok, but i was thinking if it was maybe the throwout bearing not put in correctly, or something else. let me hear some input before i put this bac in, and have it happen again.

it wouldnt accelerate? did you smell clutch? maybe the axle wasnt seated in all the way and popped out. i cant see a swap causing clutch failure. go over everything and make sure the axles were installed correctly.

Did you torque down the pressure plate to specs? Also did you inspect the fingers on the pressure plate to make sure they werent worn?

whats the proper torque for the pressure plate? they were really really tight when i took them off, so i just put them back on really really tight. i didnt smell any clutch, the pressure plate fingers look fine. i think im just gonna put it back in tomorrow, and go over everything, and hope it works. i need to find a clutch alignment tool dammit!@

Correct

But you have to torque them down in small increments.

Edit: Another thing to check is the actual shaft on the tranny. Check and see if its rounded off. Also check the teeth on the clutch disc.

i was checking out the axles a little while ago, and noticed that the shorter on on the right of the car was stripped at the very end of the tranny side. it is only stripped right after the small c-plamp type of washer at the very end of the axle. ummmm i cant really think of anything else.

well, i put it all back together, and nit still doesnt work. i can pout it into gear without even pushing in the clutch, while the car is running, and it doesnt scratch, or make any sounds or move. i can put it in first, or any gear, and romp on it, and it wont burn clutch or anything. i have no clue what it is still. im beginning to believe that i need a new tranny. well, tell me what you think. thanks

clutch sounds like it's stuck engaged.

that or the clutch fork is BROKEN... or bent so severely that it's not enganing any of the gears...

You should be able to feel it going into gear though...
