Default Car died...need help

Coming home from work, one block away, I downshift and when I get back on the gas, there was nothing there. The car won't start anymore. I had to push her home. I didn't hear any crunching noise or anything, so I don't think its anything internal.
My first hunch was the timing belt slipped a couple notches. I checked that = ok.
I haven't checked for spark yet, cause I was by myself.
If it doesn't have spark, should I change the coil, or the ignitor, or both?
or just change the whole dang dissy? Or can I get away w/ buying MSD external coil?
Thanks for you help guys.

It may be just the coil.. just stick with OEM on this one. how many miles are on the car?

this same thing happened to me on Tax day on the civic.

I had a similar problem with my ITR. It was giving a CEL but would still run. I replaced the weak OEM coil with a Jacob's coil and exciter box and an MSD cap rotor and wires. All of this was done before it was boosted and it made a noticable increase in performance as soon as I did it. Hope this helps.

I lost my rotor screw and it trashed my distributor. Car barely ran. I'd check to make sure it's not something obvious like that.

Honda coils suck, they overheat and burn out. I now use Distributor King dizzy's on both my cars, much cheaper than oem and better quality. Plus the itrca.com discount.

check grounds. Has the car been acting funny before this? does it crank over? stumble? I assume you have power. One easy way thing to check for off the bat is when you turn the key forward listen for the 2 second fuel pump prime from the backseat.

Thanks for all your help guys!!
My car ran fine before this, it was an all of a sudden thing..
And All my ground wires are good.
I'm pretty sure it's the coil.
I was contemplating on getting msd external coil, but there were other posts saying it causes other problems, while others say it kicks ars... hmmm weird.
I think I'll have to go w/ distributor king!!
thanks again!
