Drag Race s2000 60 ft times
What is the weight of your car? Hp level, and 60 foot time?
I'm just curious what s2000's can get for 60 foot times, and how that compares to FWD hondas in drag racing. Also curious what you guys think about 60 foot times on the street, and if the strip times are anywhere near what the street 60 foots would be.

2550lbs. , 400+ hp, 1.78 sec 0-60 gtec pro. I haven't been to the track yet.
If you only want to drag race then change out the rearend and axles and have fun.
Greenlight (on s2ki) just set a new drag race record down in Texas with a F20C powered dragster. This indicates the potential of the engine.
Can you imagine dumping the clutch at 9500 and never going below 9000 rpm. Shifting at 11,500 or so?

Where did you get the 2550lbs from? You must of lost alot of lbs. The best 60ft that I got was 2.0 I was running on shitty kumhos. What was your 1/4?

Sounds like Erik Aguilar with his close ratio b series tranny.
What tranny, or where did greenlight get the gears to only drop 2500 rpm per shift?

how can you improve the 60ft time on the car?

Well, quick reaction times will help, but, aside from that, playing with tire pressures and stickier tires may help. Just becareful of that rear diff. You don't want to break it from a launch that is too hard.

my best was 2.3 because I've always been gentle on the diff
my worst was this

snapped axle and broke the gearbox at 3700rpm launch....thanks Honda for the weakness and inevitible
btw when do you need to have a full roll cage, parachute etc etc in the US? Is it in the 10 or lower?

Yeah, I don't know if there is a national time where a cage must be employed. Some tracks only require a roll bar at 12.xx.
It'd be best to contact the track you'll be competing at for this info. And if you already know that you'll be making 9.xx passes...you might as well get an NHRA spec cage.
