What I've been doing...
Because I've had a lot of PMs/questions about how I'm dealing with the agony of not racing...

Now I just have to see if I can muster the courage to track her. I'll most likely see all the HC fools at Hyperfest. No, I won't be racing, unless someone falls ill at the track and I convince them to let me drive
I'll seriously never forget the good times, and trying times
, that were had throughout my short racing life. It was fun, but I'm also having fun "growing up"

Nice car. Funny when you start talking about the courage to track the M3 I say it is "hard to put down that crack pipe isn't it?" Is it talking to you? Funny I went the other way. Sold my respectable tt supra 6 speed so I could track an 88 CRX. Must be my mid-life crisis talking. As long as you are having fun is what matters.

good looking car! I only drove one 2001 M3 for about 4 miles... thick steering wheel and the shifts were really long compared to my S2000..... Maybe you could loan me yours for a few laps.

big ditto on the above; miss racing wit u! and very nice looking car you got there, franza!
on a side note, i am going to a PCA event on may 21, 22 at pocono north (will be instructing there for the RTR PCA). i was planning on taking the Probenstien, but on of my pals has been boasting about how fast his new car is, blah blah blah.... (his new car is a E46 M3, bone stocker). of course, i shot back that my 4 door 4 cylinder commuter car would put the stomp down on his overpriced ****-mobile...
well, the trash talk went back and forth, and now i have to take my daily driver up there and put up or shut up... well, you guys know me well enough; i never shut up!!!
so, its "street tire shootout" on saturday for him and myself; his E46 M3 on oem tires & brakes, versus my (insert mystery 2003 japanese 4 cyl 4 door car with very light tuneup mods and oem tires/brakes).
i think his car is probably a bit more capable than mine; slightly..... he is a fairly good driver (he's an instructor, too), but he's not a racer. of course, we won't be "racing", but we will see who gets around the track fastest and who is leading at the end of the 20 minute session!
i better not break/crash my daily driver, or i'm gonna have to put insurance back on the Probenstien and drive it to work for a while! where's my earplugs???

Yeah, especially those of us who have had the experience of Todd *adjusting* his line down the front straight at Summit to try to keep my Prelude behind him during an HPDE. I'll never forget that one, I still remember coming through turn 10 with a run, and thinking to myself, "He isn't seriously going to run the inside line down the front straight to keep me from passing him during a school, is he? Yep, apparently so." LOL!
Matt
P.S. I passed him anyway.
