Default clutch/tranny problem?

i have a stock 1995 ex coupe.... i noticed there's some noise coming from the clutch and the car has 135K miles and has not yet been replaced, so i'm assuming it needs to be very soon .... but as far as how it drives, i honestly have a hard time shifting from time to time. At times, the car won't go into gear. I almost have to force it in.. only sometimes though. I wouldn't think it's a tranny problem because it does not grind at all, but would it have do anything with the clutch system in general (clutch, flywheel, bearings, etc)?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Easy way to check your clutch, at a stop put your car in 5th. Then try to take off, if it grabs and stalls out, your good. If you get the direct opposite replace your clutch. Good Luck.

okay... so i did that. Put it into 5th and it stalled out. I guess the clutch is okay? I still here this weird noise, i'm assuming it is on its way out still? But as far as almost having to force it into gear, what would cause that?

i also found this...

After 125k it could be time for a new clutch kit, (disc, pressure plate, etc.), but like I said, when the clutch disc goes out or wears out, usually the clutch will start to slip, it might be hard to get into gear because the clutch isn't disengaging fully, etc. Yours sounds like a fairly intermittent problem that is commonly caused by air being in the system. </TD></TR></TABLE>
