msd 6AL or msd 6a
Ok I have a question. I have a del sol w/ b16a3. It has the usual bolt on like header intake cat back etc. I am using msd 8.5 wires as well. I wanted to know what ignition system I should use. I have seen the msd 6A and msd 6al. Whats the difference and what would be better for my car. I have heard that I should use the msd 6al but I wanted to be sure. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you're not going full race and just want an upgraded ignition, just go with a 6A since you have a Rev limiter in your ECU.
In short, the 6AL has a rev limiter that you could adjust using different pills and hook up more accessories than the 6A

Ok got ya. I will be getting a new ecu (not sure which) but it will be for my new b18c-r spec engine. I do want to add a blaster coil to. I actually have msd's distributor cap on order so I can plug in the blaster coil. Should I still go with the 6a. I suppose I should have given more info in the first message. sorry
I would go with the 6AL then.
Here's a link if you need help with the install

The rev-limiter in your ECU is much different than on the MSD. The ECU uses a fuel cut, which is bad. The MSD uses ignition cut.
Anyway, as long as you're spending money on something you don't need, you might as well get the better model.
