Default AEM V2 intake

the old aem CAI is made for both A/T and M/T. does anyone know why AEM V2 intake is only made for Manual transmission? if it is used on an Auto transmission, will it mess it up? what will it do?

Transmission housings are different between A/T and M/T. They only specify that for clearance purposes.

the only reason i could see why a cai would be different for an auto is to clear some thing that might be bigger or in the way on an auto car. because the transmission has nothing to do with the intake.

You'd be wasting money on a V2 anyway, theyre way overpriced. eBay intake or classifieds intake + K&N filter will give good hp for way less than half the price...

I saw an experiment sometime last week where the V1 cai made more power than the V2, but the short ram beat them both. just get a cheap intake tube and a k&n .

I have seen conflicting reports going both ways. It looks like it varys between different motors and builds. I personally dynoed my V2 vs the V1 and the V2 made like 1 more hp but picked up about 3 ft-lbs on the v1. This was on a basicaly stock B16b. I personally dont think the V2 is worth the money unless you find a used one or a really good deal on one or if someone wants every last HP possible.

the V2 is a waste of money..

200 bucks for any intake is a waste of money.
oh wait...nearly 300!!!!

I paid 55 shipped and i'll never pay more than that for a piece of tube and a filter

Yea the only reason I got an Iceman intake (normally 200) is because I found a new one on ebay running for 60 shipped. Made me really happy.

i think the v2 is worth the money, i have one on my d16z6 and it has good top end. when this was the only mod i had i raced my friends si hatch and my other friends 95 ex and they both have the same engine and they both had intakes only. one had an injen and the other had aem v1 cai. they both know how to drive so it was going to be a good race. i had both of them buy a like a foot and then hit 3rd gear and pulled on both of them. from experience i defintaley think its worth the money

300 bucks for that little horsepower though....you could buy a VAFC or Uberdata for that much money...

15.00 tube+40.00 filter....much cheaper and does the exact same thing, especially if you wrap yuor headers to keep engine bay temps down...

I'm betting there is some weight diff in those 3 cars too, not to mention other factors. I doubt the intake had much to do with that. Usually a $300 intake will make less than 1 hp more than a $50 intake. If you can go name brand for under $100 though, thats the way to go. I have an aem sr from ebay, $90 shipped .
