Fixing the door lock wire?
Hey guys. When I picked up my shell (92si) the passenger side door didn't have a tihng to lock the door (manual), and it also didn't have the long wire that extends out by the locking/unlocking mechanism.
It has the long wire that extends to the mechanism that opens the door, but the long wire/lock for locking the door aren't present.
I was looking at the piece where the wire should be, and it seems like i might be able to just buy the extra wire thing and a new lock, but then again it looks kind of funny and i dont know how i would exactly hook the damne thing on. ANyway im confused.
LOL Does anyone know what i'm talking about, and have any helpful info? Such as part number or name of the wire thingy.
Thanks

I think I am too. Are you looking for the metal rod that hooks onto the back of the lock? You should be able to get it at a junkyard, http://www.slhondaparts.com , http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com or your local dealer.

Yeah thats right, the rod. But there is a wierd white plastic piece that looks like it's a part of the locking mechanism. I'm kind of confused as to how I would get the rod in without snapping that piece off.

You twist the plastic piece off the rod, then you pull the rod from the mechanism leaving the plastic piece in the lock.
