Default Another Turbo Integra Done... Tuned By Church (Go away 56K)

Hola Muchachos.... well im glad to report that i finally finished the turbo install in my car and would like to share the experience with you guys and report my findings. I ran the car on a dyno before and after the process. A lot of people have helped that i would like to thanks (my brother, Sean Church with CAT, arturbo for answering my questions, ben at importparts for parts, H-T for helping me out, and many more that i PM and got great responses, and finally i would like to thank the search button here on Honda-Tech Also, thanks to Sean Church for hooking me up with an awesome basemap. Me and my little brother showed many cars at night out in the backroads how good it was ....

Basics:
Garrett Turbocharger
- T3/T4E (.57 Trim .63 A/R)
InlinePro Exhaust Manifold
Skunk2 Intake Manifold
Precision Intercooler (600 hp)
RC 550 cc/min Injectors
WALBRO 255 lph
HONDATA Unit
P28 ECU
OBD2 to OBD1 wire Harness
Tial Wastegate
- .4 Bar Spring
Greddy Type-S BOV
3” Thermal Exhaust System
Stock Block and Head

Here is the car in Natural Aspirated Form (yes those are HID's) before i prepped it for turbo...

The essentials before going turbo (no money for other things)

Time to take the head off...

This is what 90K miles of build up looks like

This is what a little elbow grease, two hours, and a backache later...

The whole shabang..

New Headgasget, Check, Arp Heads torque to 80 ft-lbs, Check

Timing Belt Properly Installed, Check

Done.. all that work and no horsepower increase

Now its time to dyno it almost stock. At the baseline dyno, i had a 4 into 1 exhaust header, Skunk 2 IM, and a 3" Thermal. why you ask? Because i didnt want to remove them, then have to install them again. My back hurted...

Before I left to the dyno...

At the dyno..

Strap it in..

Run the **** out of it N/A

Time to begin the turbo process FINALLY...

Cram that hair dryer in their..

Out you go..

Almost done

TADA

Maybe i went overboard with the thermal wrapping

Intercooler shot

One shiny radiator

The last thing, dont want to forget this step.

The money shot

Now its was time to visit my friend Sean Church at Church Automotive Testing. What can i say about Sean that hasnt already been said. He knows his stuff and it was well money well spent with him.

Saturday Morning before getting it out to visit Sean

My dog...

Finally At Sean's new shop with my scheduled appoinment.

Nice Arial Shot of Whats going on.

Sean Earning his money

Ready to go..,

Seans New Big Shop. Maybe i should get into tuning cars. Thats where the money is.

Finally we get to see what she can do.

Ok, sorry for so many pics. Im just so happy. Here is the dyno of my car almost stock. As you can see i made a whooping 157 hp with 115.2 ft-lbf of torque.

With Turbo at 6-7 psi I made ~ 260 WHP AND 187 FT LBF.

Here is the boost chart. I forgot to get the A/F ratio graph.

Well, it was fun. Now i have to do some engineering calculations and stuff like that so i can use it as my senior project and graduate in 5 weeks.

Also, i was going to increase the boost to 10-11 psi but when we went to increase it, the POS boost controller (Greddy Profec A) didnt want to cooperate. I still havent been able to get it to work safely. It works perfectly in my brother turbo eclipse, it just wont work in mine. Oh well, i talked to arturbo and we agreed i should ditch it and invest in another. So yeah.. time to use the search button and see what people are using that works. Thanks all and sorry for tons of pics. But i know you guys liked it. I also have to get my car painted so dont say anything!

Damn bro, luckily I have DSL! Nice work! Did you torque the headstud bolts to 80ft lbs without the head on, or with the head on torquing the nuts down to 80 ft lbs?

Nice write-up. Can you please explain the process for removing the carbon from the pistons?

Oh no, i fingered them tight to the block then applied the molly lube. Once i put the head back on, then i torqued them down to 80 ft lbs.

I used my brothers old piston rings (which are soft enough not to scratch the cylinder walls) and a shop rag. I scraped as much build up with the piston ring (making sure not to scratch them) then i used some elbow grease with the shop rag and gasoline go wipe them clean. It took a while, but im happy with the results.

Oh yeah, i am not proud of the color of my car right now, lol, i now need to save more money to paint my car and buy some volk rims for it. I have other plans for it too but for now, the car feels so good. The tach races to redline so fast in first and in second i can still leave a nice streak of rubber. Finally, third and fourth is where i can definitely feel the power. And driving in the freeway in 5th is beautiful. Glad you guys enjoyed the pics.
