D Series Tranny, Need Info...
To make a long story short... I have a 95 Civic with a D16Z6 and I shaddered one of my shift forks in my tranny, so there are metal scraps everywhere and I need a new tranny. But I was wondering if there was a difference with the D16Z6 and the newer model EX trannys (96 and up to 00)? By that I mean gear ratios or anything else. I know that the newer model trannys have better shift forks than the D16Z6 tranny but is there anything else??
Anything you will notice? No. I want to say the gear ratios are exactly the same, but I'm not sure... If they aren't, they are so damn close you will never know.
second gear is slightly different and thats it in the gears. 92-95 has 1.900 where the 96-01 has 1.909
they are both hydro so i dont believe there are any othere differences other than the shift forks like you said which are by far much better in the 96-00 EX tranny
